Works published in the United States prior to 1923 are considered no longer protected by copyright--i.e. they are in the public domain--and may be reproduced in their entirety without permission.

All works of The Hearthside Publishing Company are currently under copyright protection and may not be reproduced without the written consent of the copyright owner or The Hearthside Publishing Company. Permission requests usually concern excerpts to be reproduced in books, audio products, classroom coursepackets, and relevant web sites. Permission is also necessary for any of The Hearthside Publishing Company titles that may be used as props in motion pictures or television programs.
